Metro Ready Mix, LLC, was founded in late 2004 by Banyan Ventures, Dick Chatterton and Paul Richards. Banyan developed a close working relationship with Chatterton and Richards through Banyan's investment in Metro Waste.
Prior to forming Metro Waste, Richards and Chatterton became recognized leaders in Utah's construction industry by building Metro West, Utah's largest independent concrete company. Metro West grew to $42 million in annual revenue, culminating in its accquisition in 1999 by Pioneer International Ltd.
Realizing that consolidation in Utah's concrete market had created a unique opportunity, the founders launched Metro Ready Mix with a mission to provide high-quality, ready-mixed concrete to customers along the Wasatch Front. By focusing on product performance and customer service, Metro provides the market with a reliable concrete partner. Metro operates a batch plant, a cement terminal and 25 mixers in Salt Lake and Utah counties.
John Dunn serves as the company's Chairman and President.
