Darin Gilson

Mr. Gilson is a founder and Managing Director of Banyan Ventures. In addition to helping lead and expand the Firm, Darin oversees Banyan’s investment in BelleHavens/Banyan Properties, LLC.. Prior to founding Banyan Ventures in early 2003, Darin served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Campus Pipeline, Inc.

Darin helped grow Campus Pipeline from a backyard start-up to the market leader in portal technology and services in the international higher education market. In late 2002 Darin helped execute a successful merger between Campus Pipeline and SCT Corporation.

Darin joined Campus Pipeline from McKinsey & Company, the global management consulting firm, where his work focused on strategy and new business development. Darin currently serves on the Board of The Children’s Museum of Utah, and on the Board of Chapman Innovations.

Darin has previously served as an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Darin has an MBA in strategic and entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated a Palmer Scholar, and he also holds bachelors' degrees in economics and political science from the University of Utah.

Darin lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife, Susan, and their four children.
